Why can't the Raspberry Pi 5 boot from the NVMe SSD?
Please check the issue from the following three aspects:
1. Please check if the FPC cable is connected correctly.
Pay attention to the direction of the PCIe FPC cable and connect it as shown in the figure:
"RPi5" connects to Raspberry Pi 5 and "HAT" connects to adpter board.

2. Please check the lspci command.
List PCI device command. If your NVME SSD device is connected successfully, then your NVME SSD device is as follows:
$ lspci
If the SSD is recognized, the SSD model will be displayed.
3. It may be due to the compatibility issues between the Raspberry Pi 5 and SSD.
The compatible SSD models we have tested include the crucial P310 1TB, Samsung 990 EVO Plus 1TB, and multiple models of SK Hynix, Fanxiang and Netac.
As an adapter board, whether it can be used depends on the compatibility between the Raspberry Pi 5 and SSD.
Our existing PCIe to NVMe HATs include the following several products:
All of them is only compatible with M.2 NVMe SSDs, not compatible with M.2 SATA SSDs, M.2 PCIe AHCI SSDs, or other M.2 non-NVMe devices.
